Brenda Song's upcoming theatrical film The Social Network, which is distributed by Columbia Pictures, has been slated for a steady October 1, 2010 release date. Variety recently announced that film was set for a October 15, 2010 release date in theatres worldwide and will have a wide theatrical release.
The film, which is about the founding of the popular social networking side, Facebook; features a ensemble cast which is led by Brenda Song, Justin Timblerake, Jesse Eisenberg and Rooney Mara.
The film is also produced by a successful award winning crew team, led by Academy Award nominated director David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin.
The film was previously known as ''Facebook: The Movie'', the production is a film adaptation of Ben Mezrich's critically acclaimed novel The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal.
Box Office Mojo recently released a ''theatrical movie schedules addition and changes'' list, where they announced that Sony/Columbia Pictures have changed the film's release date from October 15, 2010 to October 1, 2010.
Justin Timberlake recently talked about the project, ''to be honest David Fincher is so ridiculously genius, we’re all just following his lead. I think we want to tell the story, and I want to tell it through [Aaron] Sorkin’s words and Fincher’s eyes.'' Adding, ''I think Aaron did a lot of research on all of it. I don’t want to speak for another actor, but I think the consensus for all of us is that we just want to make a great film.”
